Summer is finally over and we are about to have a temperature drop and I'm sooooo ready for not boiling finally. August went away in a blink of an eye and I'm both sad and happy about it. I had some great times, but I also got damned behind on EVERYTHING. September will be about trying to catch up to myself.
What Lehmann excels at is weaving an intricate, multilayered story, with complex characters who feel like they could walk out of the pages anytime. Shattered Fears is about battling your demons whether they are real or just in your head. Or are they?
With September arriving the temperature dropped from 33 to 18 in a day - which I'm not complaining about, because fuck heat. Probably my brain will now will be able to process reading and stuff - once I finally get some normal rest, that is. As I've been lacking with a lot of things in August, September will be all about catching up and trying to squeeze in everything. I don't have much to look forward to this month, so no distraction.
This year I'm going to host an Advent Book Calendar event, where Jen and me are going to pick one book every day until December 24th. Books we've read this year, and tell you why you should pick it up. You can check our progress in the Advent Book Calendar 2018 introduction post, where you can "open" the windows every day and find out what we have for your reading pleasure!
With August gone, summer is practically over. September kicked the doors in with a lot of rain over here anyway. August was all kinds of awesome as blogging goes. My stats hit a new high with over 1.100 views. I've got to knew a lot of new people and overall I keep going strong. Hopefully it stays that way. August also brought a brand new design, a new logo and feature images. I also launched a facebook group besides my page where I hope I can interact with you guys more!
My blog will be 6 months old in September and I wanted to thank you for being awesome. I teamed up with Benedict Patrick Ulff Lehmann and C.T. Phipps to host a #bookgiveaway! For more info read the post!
I guess I don't have to introduce Ulff Lehmann, author of Shattered Dreams and soon to be released Shattered Hopes. We've had quite a nice chat about writing and fantasy all things fun in an interview before. This time he shares a short story with us about the real evil behind the mask of kindness. This is not a fantasy story but deals with a very serious topic. How far would you go to keep your family out of harm's way? And what would you do if the worst already happened?
May was a busy month and this post turned out to be quite personal. I share a lot of pics about my trip besides #BookReviews, my #MusicMonday and #MusicDiggingFriday posts and #Interviews with @benedictpaddy and @UlffLehmann. Enjoy!
In my May Sneak Peek I promised two interviews. One of the gentlemen who agreed to be interrogated by me was none other than @UlffLehmann, author of Shattered Dreams. It was a fun experience :)
"Shattered Dreams is like a treasure hunt where you don't get rubies and diamonds, but some important pieces of information masquerading themselves as unimportant pebbles."
