Monthly Wrap Up: November 2019

October was mostly about catching up, and cram in as many things as possible before I headed to the UK toward the end of the month. I had a great time both in London and Bristol - article coming soon, I promise, unlike the WorldCon one... - and it charged me with energy and good feels. It was awesome to meet old friends and make new ones and I already can't wait for the next BristolCon. But until I get myself together, take a look at what we were up to this past month. We are getting near the end of phase 1 in SPFBO and we are done with slush piling so we'll start announcing our semi-finalists real soon. But we also read some other great books too, and hosted awesome authors.  Hoo boy, but November was crazy busy as we got to the end of SPFBO 5's Phase 1 and I tried to catch up to myself after my little time out in October - with some more time out. Oh well. I had some needed down time and I also got offered to work from home, which resulted in a week spent getting both my room and office ready for the switch - meaning I had to clean, sort things, find place for everything and make my desk ready to function as it should, instead of a surface where I could throw clothes and stuff in a heap. Er, yeah, so, a lot happened both in my personal life and on the blog, and now I'll show you what we were up to here at RockStarlit BookAsylum.

Cover Reveal: Cursebreaker by Carol A. Park

For those who follow SPFBO, Carol A. Park's name might be familiar. She had  two books in the competitions in as many years - the first book in The Heretic Gods series, Banebringer last year; then Sweetblade, the prequel stand alone novel this year. And now it's time that you get a good look at the second book in the series, Cursebreaker's stunning cover!

Monthly Wrap Up: April 2019

Whoa, April went by fast, I guess all of that stressing made time fly by or something, lol. It wasn't a boring month that's for sure, and I had a lot of supposed-to-be-relaxing time too. On the other hand I've got an awesome signed copy of Priest of Bones so I really can't complain.

Sweetblade by Carol A. Park

If you enjoyed Ivanna in Banebringer and want to know more about her past, Sweetblade is going to be right up your alley. If you liked the world and magic and are looking for more of that then you’ll need to wait for Banebringer’s sequel. If none of that matters then this is just a good solid read and has me even more excited for the sequel to Banebringer.

Advent Book Calendar – Day 18

This year I'm going to host an Advent Book Calendar event, where Jen and me are going to pick one book every day until December 24th. Books we've read this year, and tell you why you should pick it up. You can check our progress in the Advent Book Calendar 2018 introduction post, where you can "open" the windows every day and find out what we have for your reading pleasure!
