However, this new safe haven has undiscovered threats of its own. Eliana Veston, a scout preparing the planet for the refugees, struggles with a deadly pandemic that is killing off colonists. MARCH 22ND

Cosmic Lattes and Books – review

“The writing was great. It wasn’t flowery, which is the type of writing i typically love, but it was also not clinical. The action scenes and they way they were written made me feel like I was watching a movie The descriptions of the world, as stated above were also great”

Fantasy Book Critic – interview

Beneath A Thousand Skies – review

“Overall, this is a fast-paced book that sweeps you along, there is a lot of action, although it’s always story-orientated and moving the characters and the narrative forward. There are times when I feel that it could have done with having a few more slower moments, but those that we do are well done and are both moments of character development and a chance for the reader to catch their breath.”

OllieSpot SFF Book Reviews & Interviews – review

“Also, although a majority of the story is planetside, it is filled with some awesome science fiction themes, ideas, and tech that is intermixed with what might happen when humanity decides to make a cozy home on a planet already inhabited by spiritually, and technologically advanced and sophisticated. Well done T.A.!”

FanFiAddict – review

“I have to say that overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time with In the Orbit of Sirens. While it never quite reached its full potential, it explores a lot of interesting ideas and the imaginative worldbuilding had me thirsting to know more about the wild unknown planet of Kamaria. For a book with such a respectable page count (just over 500 pages), it was a surprisingly fast read! With an edge of your seat urgency, Bruno manages to maintain a breakneck speed through to a satisfying ending that is full of foreboding for the forthcoming sequel. The sequel which I am eagerly awaiting.”

Sue’s Musings – review

“The fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat fight sequences are also well thought through and no details are overlooked, making it highly enjoyable and a book that is difficult to put down.”

One Reading Nurse – review + IG spotlight

“This is one of those reviews where I could talk about a book forever and point out so many cool things, but I think it’s best to just read the book yourself. Go hike through those forests, meet those natives, and fly into battle with the characters. Go be a part of their banter, sit in on the memorial services. This is an immersive, page flying sci-fi adventure that you won’t regret picking up! I mean honestly it’s one of my favorite modern scifi reads!”

Book and Nature Professor – review

“I can’t say enough great things about In the Orbit of Sirens. I love science fiction and this was perfect. The blend of science with a great story-that’s science fiction at it’s finest. Mr. Bruno’s characters, the Sirens and the world of Kamaria are a must read if you love science fiction. His creation of Kamaria is brilliant and well thought out. Beauty and brutal-just as all ecosystems are. The characters have complete story arcs and are flawed, as are all human beings. Personally, I like characters I can relate to, and it was easy to relate to Eliana and Denton. The Sirens, an essential part of the story, fit naturally into this world. They belong on Kamaria as much as the other species. I am looking forward to the next installment of In the Orbit of Sirens. Easily the best science fiction I have read.”

In the Orbit of Sirens by T. A. Bruno IG wrap up
Inspired by

All the images you see here I created myself (except for the cover itself, that is artist Daniel Schmelling’s excellent work.). Early on, I wanted to make this a short animated film, so I had made a lot of 3D assets. A lot of these are also used in the physical edition of the novel, the ships became the chapter headers, and the Siren’s head is featured on the back cover and inside in a few places. The way I have this mood board arranged, first by color temperature, cold to warm, but also stacked by character story. The Top two images are for Denton’s path, the middle are the Siren’s, and the bottom are Eliana’s story elements. I’m a big fan of open, sprawling vistas and atmosphere, but I combine it with cramped, close din spaces for Denton’s early story. I hope to convey an epic sci-fi/fantasy adventure with grand setpieces and unique characters.
