Be a Contributor at RockStarlit BookAsylum!

A couple of months ago RockStarlit BookAsylum stepped into its third year. With the growing number of responsibilities and the changing circumstances, I have to admit it might be time to bring another contributor on board. I confess, this is not easy for me, to let other people in, this blog is my baby after all and I’m a bit of a control freak when it comes to it, but it’s not a bad thing to freshing things up a bit every once in a while.

Changes are already afoot, the blog will be moving soon to another server. Hopefully it’ll go smoothly, and I’m really excited to show it off! But until we wait, why wouldn’t you give a go at being a contributor at the Asylum? If you ever wondered what happens in the staff room and how we keep our tenants alive, then this is your chance to get a peek behind the scenes! I hear you asking what would that entail, so here you go:

At the moment I’m looking for someone who would help us out with occasional articles or reviews to take up some of our review requests we failed getting at. We’d start with 1-2 posts a month and then see how it goes. I would also welcome if you had some fresh ideas and a vision of how could the content on the blogger be better and/or different. I’m a perfectionist, so it’s important to me that you have good writing skills and be open for taking suggestions and generally be able work in a team. If you’ve got a sense of humor that wouldn’t hurt either πŸ™‚

Depending on the volume of interest, I’m planning to have two rounds until I eventually choose a person – or not. In the first round, you’ll have to fill out a form linked below. Based on your answers and the information you provide, you can get into round two, where I’ll ask you to submit an article or review of a specific topic/book we’ll choose together. At the end I’ll decide whether I’ll take on someone or not. Although the goal is to find a person who would fit into the team, I’m not going to force myself to pick someone just so I could say I did. There are several factors I’m going to take into account before the final decision.

If all this didn’t scare you away, then please consider sending in your application by

Submission will be open until June 1st. After that, I’ll go through the submissions, and will contact everyone to let them know whether they advanced into round two or not. So, good luck everyone!

Exciting that you are looking for another contributor! You and Jen are already work together so well. I can see how it would be nerve-wracking to bring someone else into the mix. I look forward to the reveal if you do find someone who is the right fit. πŸ™‚

I think I would find that hard, too. Like good, but hard. I often want to work with other people (on writing, on projects) but … yeah. I have controlling feelings and also I’m not very good at being assertive, which is a horrible mix where I get twitchy at every difference but am unable to express any of it. XD Something I’d like to work on in future, I think! That’s with my own projects though. I’ve not yet had the pleasure of working with someone else on something they started.
