Music Monday: Shout 2000 by Disturbed

Music Monday is a meme that was created by Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek. You pick a song and/or video and share it on Monday.

Thoughts and other ramblings

The past week I didn’t sleep much, and in turn my headache got worse, and today I think I reached the high point and ugh. I just really want to shout. Not that it would help me function, but whatever. I also just realised I haven’t posted a Disturbed song yet, so it really was time for that.

Lyrics

(shout shout)
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
(come on)
I’m talking to you
(so come on)
[repeat]

In violent times…
You shouldn’t have to sell your soul
In black and white…
They really really ought to know
(just don’t know)
Those one-trick minds…
Who took you for a working whore
Kiss them goodbye…
You shouldn’t have to jump for joy
(jump jump jump jump jump)

You shouldn’t have to (shout) for joy(shout)

They give you life…
and in return you gave them hell
As cold as ice(no bitch your ice ice baby)
I hope we live to tell the tale
I hope we live to (shout) the tale(shout)

Will you never shout
HUH
I feel as though you’re never gonna let it all out
Will you never shout?
HU
I feel as though I know
you’re never gonna let it all out
will you never shout?
HUH
I feel as though I know you’re never gonna let it
And when you’ve taken down your guard…
If I could change your mind…
I’d really love to break your heart
(break break break break break)

I’d really love to (shout) your heart(shout)

I’d really love to
(shout shout)

Come on let me shout shout let me
Come on let me shout shout
Come on let me shout shout let me
Come on let me shout shout

  1. Sweet. I saw Tears For Fears perform this in ’85 (I think, I was in high school anyway). I like this cover much better. If songs like this from the 90’s+ had been available to me in middle school (I’m thinking Rage Against the Machine, Janes Addiction, etc) I probably would have exploded and wouldn’t be here today.
