Sneak Peek

What’s to come? – May 2019

Exciting and at the same time terrifying things are happening to me these days and I can’t wait to see where things lead me. May probably will be a slow reading month as a lot of things are going on, so bear with me. On the other hand, I’ll catch up with reviews, so yay!

Book titles are linked to their Goodreads pages!

Books I plan to read in May

Audiobooks I plan to listen to in May

Books I plan to review in addition to the ones above

Other bookish plans

SPFBO Interviews

My SPFBO interviews will go on, there are still a few finalists left I haven’t made an interview with yet. There are only 2 left, so probably it won’t be much secret who will be up last but not least: Devin Madson and Mike Shel.

The Questioning

Probably I don’t have to introduce this feature anymore. I’ll have an author and a blogger hosted again in May. The Author Edition will be… fun.

Wyrd and Wonder

This year I joined to the Wyrd and Wonder movement, celebrating fantasy. I’ve been quiet on this and I’m sorry, but I’ve been trying to keep my head above water and all. I’m planning to write some posts to go with the theme, though honestly, every month is a fantasy month for me. I’m not quite sure what topic I’ll pick, but I have a few things in mind. I’ll get into the celebration, I promise!

Other plans

Change of Life

May probably will be a huge milestone in my life. If you follow me on twitter you know already that I’m complaining a lot about my job. Back at the start of the year I decided that I’m going to take my life into my hands and will work toward changing it for the better. As slowly everything started to pile up and I kept being frustrated with work, with my life not being the way I wanted it, not having enough time for things I really wanted to do, it affected my mental health, and I think it affects my sleeping as well. I’ve been thinking for a while now how to change things. First I decided to look for another job – I already applied to a few places in the UK – and looked for ways to switch a career to something closer publishing, and with that I decided to resign by the end of summer. But that’s too far away,  so I needed a better solution. I’m going to ask for a change in my contract from 40hrs work a week to 30hrs. It’ll leave me with enough breathing room to start getting small jobs, build up experience and see if anything comes out of my job applications. It’ll also help me to switch gradually and leaves me with a back up plan. If things come to worse, I can use this extra time to enroll an online editing course to learn even more. It probably won’t be easy, and this also means that I’m losing money until I can have a steady side income.  At least this is the plan for now, and although I’m excited, I have a lot of doubts and insecurities regarding whether I can pull this off or not. First, I have to talk to my boss to see what she says to this change…

Show(s) I’m attending

To relieve some of the stress I’m having about this change and in general, at the end of the month, I’m going to see my favourite Hungarian band. They will celebrate their 20th birthday (I’ve known them for almost 10 years, damn, I’m old…) so it’s gonna be a huge party. I’m really looking forward to that one. Ironically I started the month with a huge party (my cousin’s wedding) and will end it with another one.

Eurovision

And since we are talking about music, May is Eurovision month! I decided to dedicate this month’s Music Diggin’ Friday posts to this event, with some lists. It’s a fun event and so why not have fun while it lasts? It only happens once in a year anyway.

Well, I think that’s it. Follow me if you like either on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram (I don’t have much content on that platform yet)!
