Music Diggin' Friday

Music Diggin’ Friday: June 8th

Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on.

I’m pretty excited about this week’s Music Diggin’ Friday, because we’ve got a lot of new stuff. So get ready guys, because this will be a long post!

Albums released

Temporary Things Taking Up Space EP by Dead Sara

I was looking forward to this one. Dead Sara has a new contract with a Recording Studio and they released their EP wich contains 6 songs. And they are pretty good songs too. Maybe not as strong as Weathermen was, but I’ll definitely will purchase it and play it until I get bored of it. My pick of the EP for now is the first song Times To Remember:

A Dying Machine by Tremonti

After weeks of constantly dropping new songs on us, Tremonti finally released A Dying Machine. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I need to throw in something to please you dear reader, so here you go! My pick to go with the album is Take You With Me:

New singles/videos

The Look by Age of Days

I’ve been waiting for these guys to finally drop a new song. Their last album came out in 2013. Not sure when I came across them, maybe around 2015 or so. Looks like they are back in the business and a new album is in the making and will be released later this year. The first song released is a cover of Roxette’s The Look, featuring Heidi Shepherd:

The Grey by Thrice

Now this is another song I’m freaking excited about. Ever since I heard Thrice’s song Black Honey last year I’m in love. They have a new contract and altough there is no news of a new album yet, their first song of this era had been released this week under the title The Grey. As usual, their lyrics is pretty strong and filled with emotions and I love the sound too.

My Own Grave by As I Lay Dying

Not enterely my cup of tea, but I figure a lot of metal heads like them and the release of this song had been all over my facebook wall. I don’t know much about this band so without further ado their new song My Own Grave:

Agains The Wall by Seether

It’s no secret that Seether is my second favorite band of all time. Their last album which was released last year (OMG it’s been almost a year already??) Poison the Parish was pretty heavy, and altough not my top favorite it’s pretty decent. Seether now released an acoustic version of Against The Wall from the album. I have to confess I love Shaun’s voice, especially when he sings like this. I love, love, love it.

True Rocker by Monster Truck

I have a thing for southern sounding rock bands. I’ve known Monster Truck since 2014 I think. Their new album titled True Rock will be released this September and the title song had been released today. Hopefully the album will be a bit more heavy. This one is a bit of a disappointmen to be honest.

Ghosts by Mike Shinoda

Seems like it has become a trend to drop a song every week or so from an upcoming album. Mike Shinoda definitely follows this and so we’ve got Ghosts. Post-Traumatic is out next week.

City of the Sun by The Veer Union

The Veer Union released another song from their upcoming album titled Decade: History of Our Evolution. I guess this suggest they’ll rerelease some of the old stuff as well as new songs. City of the Sun amongst them:

Hi-Lo by Evanescence

Those who follow/know me are aware by now that I’m no fan of female singers, more like female voices really. I was never a big fan of Evanescence, although I remember my teenage years when you could not hear Bring Me to Life or My Immortal. And I liked those songs, but never followed the band. Apparently, their released a new album Synthesis last year and this year they released a video for Hi-Lo featuring the violinist Lindsey Stirling. I admire her music, and absolutely love that piece she did with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale titled Shatter Me. Anyway, here is Hi-Lo:

Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
