Music Diggin' Friday

Music Diggin’ Friday: April 6th

Since we already have Music Monday courtesy to Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek, I hereby declare, that Music Diggin’ Friday is a thing from now on. Mainly because so many music related stuff were published today, that I wanted to share them all in one post. And since I’m at it, I’ll take a look at this week’s other releases and news as well (altough today I’ll only share songs from today and yesterday. Believe me, it will be more than enough). I might make it into a weekly thing as well. Because, well, because I can. Let’s see what we have then!

New singles/videos

A handful of songs and videos were released today and during the week (even as I write this post songs keep popping up in my e-mail, and facebook wall, something must be in the air). Here are the songs in no particular order:

Charlotte St by Hunter & the Bear

A few weeks ago I discovered this UK based band. I pretty soon fell in love with their album Paper Heart, and especially the song Nickajack. Next time I visit, I will make sure to catch one of their shows. Last week they released a new song called Charlotte St, which I can’t stop listening to.  Finally, a lyric video was released yesterday so I can finally share with you all my newest love:

A Dying Machine by Tremonti

Mark Tremonti, guitarist of Creed and Alter Bridge founded his own project around 2010. The first album was released in 2012 and the 4th, A Dying Machine is sheduled to come out on June 8th. The lyric video of the title song just came out a few hours ago:

The Human Radio by Shinedown

Shinedown is one of the oldest bands I listen to. I think they were with me almost from the start when I fell in love with rock and roll. And finally, after about 10-12 years of waiting, they are finally coming to Budapest this summer! Do I have to say I already got my ticket? Their 6th studio album is sheduled to be released on May 4th. The album got the title Attention, attention and not long after releasing the first single Devil, we already get the second one, The Human Radio:

Bad Habit by Black Stone Cherry

Black Stone Cherry is an american rock band, with a southern sound (no wonder, they are based in Kentucky). I first saw them in 2015 in a small venue, which to my utter suprise was sold out. Even though it was the day Sziget Festival opened and Robbie Williams held a concert. They were supposed to come back last year, but due to personal reasons they cancelled the European tour. But this summer they will also come back to rock Budapest again. Their 6th album, Family Tree will be released later this month. After Burnin’, Bad Habit also came out as singles, and today we finally get to see the video accompanying it:

Save Yourself by Breaking Benjamin

As we get closer to the release date (April 13th) of Ember, Breaking Benjamin keeps coming out with songs. I try to avoid them, because I don’t want to love them and then be disappointed with the album. Does it makes any sense? Anyway, this is the album I waiting the most. I already preordered it, and absolutely can’t wait to hear it. I’ll have to find my USB cabel before next friday so I could transfer it to my mp3 player as soon as I wake up that morning. It’s no secret they are my most favorite band, and after their album Dark Before Down released in 2015 it was due time to get some new stuff. Save Yourself is the 6th single which came out today:

Fake by Five Finger Death Punch

While Five Finger Death Punch is not exactly my favorite, they have some songs I could listen to anytime. One of my favorites is Wrong Side of Heaven from their last album. Also, they are a bit close to my heart because of the founder / guitarist Zoltán Báthory, who is a Hungarian musician 🙂 The American rock band is ready to release their new album, and Fake is the first single released:

Still Hungry by Adelitas Way

A brand new song, from the Las Vegas based band, from their forthcoming 6th studio album, probably coming next year. I’m kind of suprised they released a new song so soon, they previous album just came out not long ago. Oh well, I’m not going to complain.

A legjobb méreg covered by Metallica

I already shared this video this morning, but I want to put it here too. Metallica gave a show last night here in Budapest and they did a cover of the most popular Hungarian rock band, Tankcsapda’s song A legjobb méreg (The best poison). This song happens to be one of my favorites. I’m not following Tankcsapda for a few years now, because somehow we grew apart. I don’t really like the way the went with their music, but I can always put on their old albums. I want to bow to Metallica for doing this cover. I can imagine how hard it was for them to sing in Hungarian (he didn’t really managed it, but at least there were a few lines I could understand, altough seggfej – asshole –  was clearly no obstacle XD). Regardless, I respect them for the gesture. Way to go to get a country’s love! I think only Queen could earn this much love when Freddy Mercure sung a popular folklore song’s first verse in 1986. And his singing was awesome! I’m no Queen fan either, but whenever I watch that video I get goosebumps. Every. Fucking. Time. So, I’m going to share both videos here:

Have a rockin’ friday and weekend ya’ll! 🙂
